JewishCare NSW is a not-for-profit organisation which has been providing non-residential community services for over 80 years

JewishCare NSW support a wide range of vulnerable people in the community including the aged, people with a disability, families and youth in crisis, and people with mental health issues. In 2007, Voice Project started working with JewishCare to deliver their first staff survey, which served as a baseline assessment of employee engagement and organisational climate. Since then, we have developed a strong partnership with JewishCare and expanded the range of our services provided to them, including the delivery of five staff surveys, three client and family/carer satisfaction surveys and a volunteer satisfaction survey over the past few years.

The environment of the aged care and disability sectors is constantly changing due to changes introduced by government such as CDC (Consumer Directed Care), the NDIS and now the new Aged Care Quality Standards. Over the last decade, we have seen a sustained effort by JewishCare to continually improve the work environment and conditions for staff, while being agile and innovative in the way they were responding to legislative and market changes. Feedback from staff via the JewishCare Staff Survey between 2007 and 2018 indicated continuous and substantial improvements across a wide range of areas including technology, processes, condition of facilities, health & safety, leadership capability, change management, recruitment and onboarding experience, staff training and career development, performance feedback, rewards and recognition, and communication and collaboration across the organisation. As a result, staff continued to report high levels of engagement with JewishCare in the previous staff surveys.

In 2019 JewishCare received Voice Project’s Change Challenge Award in the large organisation category, recognising their achievement of measurable and meaningful change in the workplace. Consistent with staff feedback, the feedback we have received from JewishCare’s clients and volunteers also indicate high levels of satisfaction, highlighting a positive outlook for the organisation. JewishCare is now committed to surveying staff and clients regularly with Voice Project in order to track engagement and satisfaction levels, and to continue to use the feedback from these key stakeholders to drive positive organisational change.
